It's been a while since I have updated much here. Honestly I don't get enough of a chance to exercise this side of my creative nature lately.
Apocalypse Theory was meant to be a place where I would share my writing, pixel art, game development work. However, lately almost all of my energy has went into more structured and logical pursuits. That is not to say they were not creative, just creative in a different way.
I have been building CLI tools I find useful, working on some side projects in Web Development and APIs using I also devote a good chunk of time to my family. I have also been putting a lot of time into learning. I usually spend 90 minutes a day on continuing education and another 60 minutes on physical exercise.
The context switching between the more structured creativity of programming and the more emotional and free flowing creativity of my writing is challenging. I am not sure if I will get a chance to work much on my writing this year. I have a laundry list of ideas I want to write about. Yet I need more time because I have some ideas for my coding work I am equally excited for.
With that in mind I decided to take some time out of my schedule and participate in the PirateSoftware Game Jam 16. Its called The Social Shift
and it is an ASCII based top down RPG about Social Engineering.
I am going to try to make a creative post here every month moving forward so lets hope January is the start of something incredible!
